Sloan Canyon Public Lands Day

Create a Picnic Area near the Petroglyph Trailhead this National Pubic Lands Day!

National Public Lands Day is Saturday, September 24th. Celebrate public lands this year by volunteering at Sloan Canyon NCA! We’re partnering with Bureau of Land Management, Get Outdoors Nevada, and the Southern Nevada Agency Partnership to transform an old dirt parking area near the Petroglyph Trailhead into a picnic space, the first activity in the eventual transformation of the trailhead into a permanent Visitor Contact Station. Volunteers can assist with installing posts around the picnic space, enhancing the area and the approach trail, or doing some local litter cleanup. This activity is for the whole family, but participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

RSVP's are required to participate! Corporate, church, or other large groups email [email protected] to RSVP on behalf of your group. Parking is limited, participants are encouraged to carpool to the trailhead if possible.

RSVP with Friends of Sloan Canyon.
