We are currently planning an exciting overnight field outing to an area in Southern Lincoln County. It is an area rich in prehistoric sites, including extensive rock art panels and lithic scatters. Though the area has been extensively recorded, it has only recently been opened to stewarding. The objective of this outing will to be visit the sites and document any signs of human visitation – this data will help Nevada Site Stewardship Program (NSSP) devise a stewarding plan for this area.
We are hoping to recruit 10-12 interested volunteers to join us for this outing. We plan to accomplish our objective on Saturday, May 5, and then spend the evening at our camp in Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge, where NSSP will provide a taco dinner. The following day we will have the opportunity to explore the archaeology and natural beauty of the refuge.
