Nevadans for Cultural Preservation

We are so excited to be able to bring cultural resource preservation information to participants at this year's Carp Rodeo.

Carp Rodeo is a free, family- friendly fishing competition that will take place at the Upper Pahranagat Lake pavilion, located 5 miles south of Alamo, NV. The equipment and bait is provided but a Nevada fishing license is required for any individual over the age of 12.

Did you know that Black Canyon Archaeological District is located within the Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge? It has an interpreted walking trail and views of amazing petroglyphs unique to the area. If you come up for the rodeo, make sure you set aside time to see the sights and learn about the history of Black Canyon.
