The Lost City Museum is in the process of cataloging and inventorying its archaeological collections. This is the first step necessary in making the collection more accessible to researchers and more available to be used in exhibits and educational programs. The Object Identification and Sorting Workshop will consist of learning to recognize the major prehistoric material types and sub-types found at archaeological sites in southern Nevada and learn how archaeologists use these materials to understand the sites they study. As part of the workshop, members will spend time putting into practice what they learn by sorting uncatalogued artifacts from the Lost City Museum’s collections.
